Why Your PTA Matters

At its heart, PTA is about building connections and working together to support the health, well-being, and educational needs of all students.

In times of reduced school funding, a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) serves as an indispensable lifeline for the health and success of the entire school community. The PTA is a crucial bridge, connecting parents, teachers, and administrators in a collaborative effort to supplement resources and support educational initiatives. Through fundraising endeavors, the PTA provides much-needed funds for essential programs, extracurricular activities, and classroom supplies.

Alone we can do little... together we can do so much.
— Helen Keller

Your Echo Lake PTA serves as a catalyst for community engagement, fostering a sense of belonging and shared responsibility among parents and stakeholders. Our goal is to enhance the overall learning environment and ensures that every student has access to enriching experiences.

What Your PTA Does

The Echo Lake PTA (Parent Teacher Association) supports the Echo Lake community of staff, students and their families by providing tangible resources, both human and financial, to build community and enhance the education of our children.

We as Echo Lake PTA remain committed to serving our school and community during this unprecedented time.  Though there are events that we cannot put on this year because of the pandemic, we continue to be a support, offer resource information, and foster community connection, and here are some of the ways that we are doing this:

  • Teacher grants

  • Coordination with The Works to help meet the needs of families in our community (clothing donation, food donation, etc)

  • Building community virtually and providing information through our facebook PTA/Parents of Echo Lake Students Connect group

  • Supporting field trips/activities to help reduce or cover the cost to families

  • Providing enrichment grants to support education programs and guest speakers/authors

  • Making candy leis for all of the graduating students last spring as a way of honoring their departure from elementary school

  • Continuing to find ways to appreciate the staff at Echo Lake and encourage them

  • Continued collaboration with the school to find ways that we can continue to help

We welcome any ideas or questions, and you can contact us at echolake.pta.president@gmail.com
